Travelling to Vienna
Vienna is connected to neighboring countries by the public transport network. Vienna-Schwechat Airport has daily flights to all European destinations and can usually be reached with a short flight. Alternatively, Bratislava Airport offers an additional number of flights to many destinations in Europe and is therefore also suitable for trips to Vienna. A 30-min train connection to Vienna or a comfortable bus shuttle service within an hour is available in Bratislava.
Vienna Central Station is only three subway stops from the conference venue. Vienna-Schwechat Airport is also very well connected to the city center by S-Bahn and bus (approx. 20 minutes transfer time).
With respect to reducing the CO2 emissions of your trip, we recommend using environmentally friendly means of transport.
Vienna offers a variety of accommodation options for every taste, requirement and budget. The TU Wien has negotiated special conditions in some hotels near the conference venue. The list of hotels offering discounted rates for conference attendees can be found here. In order to benefit from these special conditions, please mention when booking that you are a guest at TU Wien.
Each hotel has a limited number of rooms available at these reduced rates. Participants are advised to make hotel/accommodation arrangements as soon as possible.
Please note that the weeks around Easter are already high season in Vienna.
